As a solopreneur, you have different roles that you have to take. Sometimes, you have to show up as the CEO of your business and sometimes you have to show up as an employee and just execute whatever the “CEO you” has decided. I like to organize a CEO day every month, which are days where like to do all the high-level, strategic planning in my business.
I find organizing a day like this on a monthly basis extremely useful because it provides so much clarity and direction.
It’s normal that after a while, the goals you have set at the beginning of the quarter might start to seem a little fuzzy right now and might not motivate you as much anymore as they did before.
Reviewing your goals on a monthly basis can really help to remind yourself of the “why” behind it and reset your intentions, so the goals feel fresh afterward.
So in this blog post, I will share the high-level activities I love to do during my CEO days and I totally recommend you to do the same.

7 am: Tracking all the numbers & metrics
I like to start my CEO day off by tracking my numbers and metrics, such as my email list subscribers and how they have grown over the past month, conversion rates, Pinterest link clicks, Google Analytics metrics, and all that good stuff.
8 am: Making sense of the numbers
After, I will try to find patterns in the numbers and I analyze which strategies worked and which ones didn’t.
Was there a certain lead magnet you created that was successful and generated lots of email list subscribers? Was there a certain strategy you tried to Pinterest? How did that work out? Is there a certain blog post that did exceptionally well? Why do you think that is?
10 am: Reviewing my quarterly goals, monthly goals, and weekly missions
Are you still on track with your goals on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis? Or are you falling behind a bit?
What went well? What didn’t go that well? What could you do in the upcoming month to get back on track with your goals?
11 am: Take the opportunity during your CEO day to revisit your why
Take a notebook and journal about your why. Remind yourself why this goal is so important to you and in which way these goals are in alignment with how you want your life and business to feel.
12 am—2:30 pm: CEO days should also be fun – Celebrating big & small wins
Make a victory list with all the big and small things you have achieved last month!
Take a 2-hour break and go ahead and do something you absolutely love, to celebrate your wins!
It doesn’t matter if you take yourself out for a brunch, buying that dress you are dying to buy, taking a 2-hour nap, seeing a friend,… it doesn’t matter, as long as it is something you love.
2:30 pm: Make a plan
With all the previous steps taken into account, tweak your weekly missions, strategies, and routines in a way that achieving your next monthly and quarterly goal becomes inevitable. Maybe you’re committing to waking up an hour earlier to get some extra work done, maybe you have realized that you need some help, so you decide to hire somebody on Upwork to help you out, or maybe you noticed that this Pinterest strategy isn’t generating as many Pinterest link clicks so you will try another Pinterest strategy this month.
Make an action plan with everything you want to tweak, avoid and implement.
4 pm: Update your calendar
They say that if it isn’t planned in your calendar that it’s just not going to happen, even though you might have all the best intentions.
So make sure to plan out enough time in your calendar to implement the new strategies and make the necessary changes.
Your calendar has to really set you up for success, so ensure to spend some time on a daily basis working on your weekly missions, to ultimately reach your monthly and quarterly goals.
5:30 pm: Review the upcoming month
Review the upcoming month and if you haven’t already, define the topics you will create content about in the upcoming month.
Make a weekly to-do list in the function of your weekly mission so you know exactly what are the next steps for you and your business.
Yay, congrats! That’s it, that rounds up my monthly CEO day!

I love your schedule. Such great ideas to review each month but that’s a long day. Planning out your calendar in one go is definitely something that works for me.
